Could the max maxplayers potentially change in the future?  It's less of an
issue now due to the high resource requirements of the game, but technology
will quickly catch up and I'm sure future updates will optimize the resource
consumption, both of which will facilitate large servers in the future.

I agree that the four current stock maps play best with 32 or fewer players,
but that doesn't mean that custom maps won't be released that may play very
well with more players.  For example, it would be great to be able to have a
64 player D-Day map in the future.
