I'm wondering does anyone also have this problem?
I have a dod:s server. I have no idea what is wrong. I have the
server.cfgcorrect. I even have the res file correct. I put the res
file in the maps
folder in the game server and even the webserver. It just does not want to
work. It doesn'ts the map only. Nothing else. I know linux is Case sensitive
and everything. But i did it correct by the book. Why wont it work?

i had this issue several times, and it took a lot of work to sort it
out. basically check all of these things (yes, im sure you have, but
the slightest mistake will cause it to fail without ever telling you why).

1) case sensitivity
2) file paths are right
3) res file is correctly formatted
4) res file has the right permissions on the game server
5) all files that are on the webserver need to be mirrored on the game
server as well (note, i have everything on my webserver bzipped, but the
stuff on the game server isnt).

lots of testing, lots of checking the error logs on the webserver to see
whats requested and eventually i managed to solve the problems.

since then it works brilliantly and sv_downloadurl hosting has saved us
a lot of hassle. now the only problem i have is the ridiculous number
of clients who connect to download something without providing the
referrer - so its hard to filter out requests from other gaming servers
who are attempting to leech files off my bandwidth.
