having kernel 2.6.11.6, i experienced the problem i reported earlier. to be more precise:
1. launching ./hlds_run -game cstrike -> works 2. "map cs_italy" -> crash in libpthread.so anyways, updating to 'Linux Server Engine' version 26 seems to work. Right now, i'm testing these new binaries! kind regards, raoul bhatia Alfred Reynolds wrote:
- People running 2.6.13/2.6.14 kernels have a crash on startup. For now go back to an earlier kernel (2.6.8 works on my Debian stable test machine), we are looking into what kernel change causes this problem. - People running multiple hlds instances on one machine get "Assertion Failed: NULL != m_hConnection." in the console on startup then use the "-sport <port>" command line option and give each server a unique Steam port. We are working on a fix to do this automatically. - Some servers are crashing with "SZ_GetSpace: Tried to write to an uninitialized sizebuf_t" errors. I have been unable to reproduce this internally and I don't have a work around at the moment. We are shooting for an update later this week to fix these problems. - Alfred
