I was just curius if it could be related to any admin tool, but it seems not
to be the case if its wrong in the client console ( via the status
command ).
I wanted to see a steamid, to see if they where long. Since some admin
tools has a hardcoded limit of 32 chars ( But i think Alfred/Valve has said
the real limit is 34 ).

Subject: AW: [hlds_linux] Confused Steam-IDs
Hi,
Yes...the Steam-Ids are wrong in the status-screen too...
How can i post a example ? The only thing i can post is a piece of the
log-files:
----
L 11/27/2005 - 14:10:41: "-=]DT[=- jkl! <3<1953><STEAM_0:0:63349><>"
entered
the game
L 11/27/2005 - 14:17:26: "unnamed<1966><STEAM_ID_PENDING><>" entered the
game
----
-=]DT[=- jkl! <3 now was kicked by console with 'steamid already....'
----
L 11/27/2005 - 14:17:56: "unnamed<1966><STEAM_0:0:63349><>" STEAM USERID
validated
L 11/27/2005 - 14:18:02: "-=]DT[=- jkl!
<3<1967><STEAM_0:1:9381317><UNASSIGNED>" triggered "time" (time "0:01")
L 11/27/2005 - 14:18:02: "-=]DT[=- jkl!
<3<1967><STEAM_0:1:9381317><UNASSIGNED>" triggered "latency" (ping "0")
L 11/27/2005 - 14:18:02: "-=]DT[=- jkl! <3<1967><STEAM_0:1:9381317><>"
disconnected
L 11/27/2005 - 14:18:02: "-=]DT[=- jkl! <3<1967><STEAM_ID_PENDING><>"
entered the game
L 11/27/2005 - 14:18:43: "-=]DT[=- jkl!
<3<1969><STEAM_0:1:9381317><TERRORIST>"
----
Now JKL became a wrong SteamID....And it will not be validated by
Steam-Net....
----
This is only a little piece of the chaos....this happens to 75% of the
players...
It is a big problem for us, because of the stats, bans and so on,
but the BIGGEST PROBLEM is, that players can became Ids from Admins,
and with AMXMOD they can now mess up the whole server....
Very annoying...

Subject: [hlds_linux] Confused Steam-IDs
Hi,
Since the last update of the HL1-Engine (maybe relate to this), The
Steam_Ids of the players are appearing double...
The problem with this is, that the players became errors like
'steam-id already in use' or the wrong players are kicked and
banned....
After retry, the player became a totally changed ID (from a different
player playing before on the server)...
All our Stats, Banlists, and ID-Databases are wrong now....
PLEASE !!! Suggestions ? It's very urgent....
We have 30000Connections/Month and it will messed up the whole
Server-Community !
Regards LuZi
