Which was exactly my point and yet still I set it up. And still wait to hear
from Alfred. Trust me, I have no love for fighting DDOS attacks every time
some script kiddy gets pissed off at Valve but I'm "willing" to do it just
the same. In a perfect world they'd dedicate their own box to get the job
done but as we all know wheels turn slowly in corporate America. So I did
what any corporation would want...made an example. Hosted it on a third
party machine for testing. If they like it we do one of two things. Hand the
keys over to the site or transfer the site to them for hosting. I'd just as
soon see somebody in Valve give a damn enough to do this but it was hinted
that "if you build it they will come". So, I built it.

I don't know what gives you guys the idea that Valve would possibly
point any of their subdomains to a web server run by some user. If
this is going to happen, someone at Valve needs to take the action. I
think it's pretty obvious that if this kind of thing were controlled
by any of the people on the list, there would be abuse such as simply
blocking certain users. Not that the world wouldn't be better without
people like Deacon, but it's still not a third party's choice. I'd
like to see this kind of thing implemented, but by Valve and in the
proper hands.
