Well then the answer is no. I can't think of a legitimate reason you'd want to do this, and even if you could give me one it doesn't mitigate the fact that things would likely break horribly. If you hacked the server to allow it somehow, either by removing the version check on the hlds side or changing the version in the client binaries (which wouldn't work unless you hacked the server as well) you'd be openning a whole other can of worms.
