Ha! Ye olde Segmentation Fault... See my several posts here and replies from others. The common elements between our setups is AMD and the underlying HLDS (I run CS:S). Best of luck to you. My server was stable for a year up until the 8/24 update.
The only tip I haven't yet tried is a total delete and reinstall of hlds. Sorry I can't be of more encouragement. Roger On Tue, 12 Sep 2006 22:31:32 -0400, Kevin J. Anderson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
I used to run all sorts of hlds servers back in the day, and decided to toss up a srcds hl2mp server for the fun of it on my gentoo raid file server, but it keeps crashing on me at start up. its the latest 2.6.17 kernel on gentoo 2006.1, on an athlon xp 2100+ I've searched all through gentoo forums and the steampowered forums, to no avail. The most I could find was saying that you have to have a processor that supports sse. But, mine does, or rather it *says* it does in /proc/cpuinfo and in all info I can find on it on the web. this is the error I am getting: ./srcds_run -console -game hl2mp +map dm_underpass +max_players 16 Auto detecting CPU Using AMD Optimised binary. Auto-restarting the server on crash ./srcds_run: line 344: 15968 Segmentation fault $HL_CMD Add "-debug" to the ./srcds_run command line to generate a debug.log to help with solving this problem Tue Sep 12 22:21:55 EDT 2006: Server restart in 10 seconds Tue Sep 12 22:21:59 EDT 2006: Server Quit any tips would be greatly appreciated.
