*That* would be closer to CS 1.6's net code, and probably solve the problem with less dead-chicken waving from the punters. Alternatively, build the whole thing into a 'lan mode' and 'internet mode' server setting (sv_lan :-/ ), with generally optimized interpolation/lag comp settings, which the client cannot override.
