Old kernel's perform better with HLDS than new ones.

the reason is the kernel devs changed the hz from 1000 to 250.
Recompile your kernel with a higher hz. I would recommend using the
latest kernel since older kernels have security issues or use a distro
like Centos that uses the 2.6.9 kernel with all security updates
backported but still uses 1000 hz in the kernel..<G.

Hi,
If you have X2 processors try the 2.6.16 kernel. I have about 70% of my
servers running with AMD X2 processors and 2.6.16 kernel. Kernel's above
2.6.16 don't perform so good, don't really know why... I have the same
settings, but the FPS is not even nearly as stable with example 2.6.19
compared to 2.6.16...
One possible reason would be the "Multi-core scheduler support" which is
added to the mainline kernel after 2.6.16 or 2.6.17. Try to disable that
feature in the "processors types and features" and test it. I would like
to know if that changed anything.

Big problems with 2.6.18. I noticed that servers running on it didn't
consume much CPU ('bout 2-3% for a 20 players source on dual xeon
2.8).
Changed to 2.6.19, everything now runs good.
What has changed in 2.6.19 compared to 2.6.18? Could you elaborate this
more?

My "Foundation" verse:
Isa 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and
every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt
condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their
righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
