My problem with this is that it appears that there is so much lag when replying to the mailing list. I don't know about you but if I see a post that is on the list at 1:20pm and I reply to it. I don't see my reply to the list until about 20 minutes has passed. I don't think it is a problem with my email client either. I think the list must be throttled or something to try to reduce the signal to noise ratio. But the problem is that in that 20 minute period where there are "no responses" people are responding trying to help them all the messages start flooding out to the list after the 20 minutes is up. This: 1. makes it hard for people to discuss a problem in a swift manner due to the time lag 2. makes it look like nobody is trying to help so other people get in and then eventually you see lots of messages answering the same question. Would seem to me that fixing this problem while it might increase the signal to noise ratio because it allows people to have arguments much to easy would also let people get answers faster and be able to actually discuss an issue in a very short period of time. But this is just what I see. Maybe nobody elses has this time lag problem. -Scott _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
