Greetings list, I'm having a problem with the connection to Steam's auth servers (the ones who turn STEAM_ID_PENDING into the actual ID), so people get booted with a "could not verify Steam ID" message. Using netstat, I have found out that the server (during the period of auth'ing the player) tries to connect to 223.1.1.128:27034.
The whole space of 223.* is reserved by the IANA since 2003, so no real computers are behind them. I tried using an invalid address for a DNS server to see if it's a DNS lying, but srcds kept on using that address anyway. What is making srcds use 223.1.1.128? I've seen discussions on the Net about it in conjunction with VPN. Thanks for the help in advance, ~~ Ondra _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
