The problem is, the lag can start after one map or after several hours, but
it will lag sooner or later. So herb just believe that it was fixed, but it
wasn't as you can read in the entire thread. It is not a kernel related
problem. All problems start with this update, remember, first not one Linux
server was able to start, but Alfred Reynolds did some fixes and after some
hours and a new update, the servers could start again. But there is still
this lag problem inside the engine. CS Source servers are affected earlier
than DOD source servers, but all Linux source servers are affected by this
problem in these days.

Hi Ronny,

I would expect that Kennycom would tell you he is running 2.6.21, and he is
NOT having this problem.
I am running 2.6.20 patched, and I am NOT having this problem.
Reading the thread you posted, it seems that h3rb was having lag with
2.6.17, but now he is NOT having lag problems since upgrading to 2.6.21.

Perhaps you should contact h3rb, and see what he changed, as he was having
the same problems, but he fixed it.
And I agree that this is really a Valve created problem, and if it's a
problem that effects everyone then they will fix it. But since it doesn't,
I'm not holding my breath....

Good Luck!
Chumly
