So i also noticed that people running on the same hardware (P3/AMD)but running the windows version have no problems hosting TF2, is this also true?
(from an earlier posting) "Since i've got X installed, and its the desktop Ubuntu, I tried using Wine to run the windows HLDS for TF2. It works, and I was able to connect and play from another box on my lan. This was late last night, and only for a few hours, so I have no idea how this set up performs for internet connected players." If so then it is not related to Code support on the CPU, it is related to specifically Linux. Does anyone have a P3 (or older AMD processor)server running windows that will or will not run TF2? Previously with other valve games and linux, specific libraries were needed or similar problems would happen.. maybe that is the case here? (as we all know the linux server has always been problematic for valve). _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
