But this happens only on Orange Box servers like TF2. On CSS and DODS the
notify works.

When I try to run a test server in linux, no notifications are getting
sent out when an cvar with notify set (such as sv_cheats) changes.
When I do the same on the exact same server (same directory and
everything) using the windows server (via wine, even) notifications
work ("Server variable sv_cheats changed to 1").
This completely breaks a server-side mod I'm working on for linux
servers -- is there something i'm missing or will this have to be
fixed by valve? And is there any timeframe for such a fix?
