I was experimenting with the same thing. But I give up when everybody was typing the wrong emailadress because of the delay. So if somebody has a good advice, please post it :)

It appears OK when you join the game (motd), but when you type in the box it delays. Like if you type the letter J it delays, nothing shows up. But when you type the next letter such as O the J will show up.
