Reading the list archives made me feel like yet another incarnation of Don
Quixote, trying to fight the windmill that others before me have attempted to
stop.

So Mr. Kyle here said on 04/24/2006 that "if you haven't broken bread with the
person or hung
out with them, then you really can't know what a person thinks or why they
act the way they do" [http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL
PROTECTED]/msg18112.html]. Today he knows exactly what all of us here are made
of and what complete losers we are (enlightenment must have stricken
mercilessly!).

He has repeatedly badmouthed gamers and game server admins (e.g.
[http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/msg18100.html]) yet doesn't get
tired of telling us how he's been running game servers for years.

Check out
[http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/private/hlds_linux/2006-December/052340.html]
and compare it to his statement from just a day or two ago, to the effect of
nerds correcting grammar and spelling when they run out of arguments.

Isn't it obvious that he would say anything he sees fit, regardless of whether
it's the opposite of what he said the day before? It's about a constant supply
of troll food. We can't win this, and we shouldn't try to any more.

Please accept my sincere apology for having a hand in getting this most recent
episode started and wasting internet bandwidth, your time and your inbox space.
Let me close with a quote from
[http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/private/hlds_linux/2006-December/052426.html]:

Please ignore Kyle for the sake of the sanity of the rest of this list.

My apologies for continuing this thread, I realized later that I moved
myself into the douche category. Carry on gentlemen, back to work,
nothing to see here.

It's a shame no one got the syrup reference though :(

Can we PLEASE get a list admin to step in and deal with this crap? It's
gone on for 3 days now with no end in site. Whether you take a club and
beat the troll or you beat the people who keep feeding him (wtf?), I
don't really care.. just PLEASE do something!

I'm starting to think that valve isn't reading their own mailing list...
