Howdie,

I just tried out 1.6 Beta on a fully updated server and was able to russian 
walk (crouch run) quite happily with no noticeable increase in the noise 
generated. Furthermore, in-game names kept reverting to steam community 
names, though name change was possible through console, it just didnt last.
