Well, I know. But the problem is, I don't have the root access to the node in 
question nor in fact can I have the administrator do it for me (too long a 
chain of command to get in touch with the proper person). So I had to live with 
that for a while. And I coped OK with all the problems, but the latest update. 
And overriding glibc per user account is, to say the least, a bit cumbersome, 
so I thought another solution can be found.
