Does all the data get erased by doing this upgrade?

I just updated my server to lenny, because that's a cleaner way to fix
this..
The update is very simple:

Change etch to lenny in /etc/apt/sources.list
apt-get update
apt-get dist-upgrade

and answer a few questions.
My update went very smooth, no problems at all.
