You don't want the AMD's for hosting SRCDS/HLDS as the new Intel processors will run them much better, though obviously it's your choice.
I've heard both bad and good about 1&1. I've never heard anything about poundhost. You might try www.webhostingtalk.com if you want to find a good host, if you're looking for more options.
