Hello all,

I've been running several SRCDS clan-servers on Gentoo Linux for a
while, and I keep experiencing weird crashes whenever I try to change
configs on a running server:

I startup the server normally with its required clan-config:

"nice --adjustment=-20 screen -d -m -L ./srcds_run -game tf -console +ip
145.92.203.100 -port 27015 +maxplayers 18 -tickrate 66 -nogamestats +map
cp_granary +servercfgfile wp7v7_30.cfg"

Nothing out of the ordinary, I'd say. The above config is designed for
maps that are played for a maximum of 30 minutes and 7 vs 7 players.
Now, whenever the server is running and we try to load a different
config using the 'exec' command, for instance: "exec wp6v6_30.cfg", the
server segfaults and restarts itself again with the original
wp7v7_30.cfg file:

"srcds_i486[5179]: segfault at a602e0a ip b790d128 sp bf9f03d0 error 6
in engine_i486.so[b7674000+32a000]
srcds_i486[5186]: segfault at 1c5b71c ip b51eadc4 sp bfea0abc error 4 in
server_i486.so[b4efd000+cd5000]
srcds_i486[5192]: segfault at 0 ip 00000000 sp bfe107bc error 14 in
srcds_i486[8048000+e000]
srcds_i486[5163]: segfault at bf412fdc ip b5463a21 sp bf412fe0 error 6
in server_i486.so[b4f6a000+cd5000]
srcds_i486[28575]: segfault at d ip b7ddcfc5 sp bfb11ca0 error 4 in
libc-2.9.so[b7d70000+13d000]
srcds_i486[28806]: segfault at 0 ip 00000000 sp bff1072c error 14 in
srcds_i486[8048000+e000]"

The only way around this, as far as I can see, is stopping and starting
the server again, but that requires shell access and I'd rather have
fellow admins do this through rcon access.

Has anyone experienced this problem and know what's causing it?

Regards,

A. Eijkhoudt
