Even though I enjoy a physichs lesson as much as the next guy,
I am pretty sure that after a signal has travelled through all that
fiber that it still needs to be processed. And I believe that after
processing an answer is generated and sent back.
As the keen reader that you are, you are most likely aware that
this process requires a certain amount of time and this amount
can vary. You most likely also noticed that this variation results
from various factors (you speak of so called "other things"
in your reply).
And these factors are what I was inquiring about.
