When it is stock I guess you did not disable cool and quiet yet (dunno what it is called with intel) As root try: cpufreq-set -g performance
This sets the cpu to maximal standart Hz. Why do this? For the load peaks the cpufreq-utils do not scale up the CPU Hz fast enough. So it is better to disable them.
