Thing is, that's some outdated thing that is no longer needed and it's propably better off to just remove it like that than delete all the entrys from their codebase. This is why it's been left like that for years. Propably more tricky thing to do without breaking anything else than just leave that thing off like that.
Now that i really dig up my memory blocks in my head, the srcds software used to require -username and -password parameters.
