Hi, does anyone here know why my server isn't running at 66 tic? It's a tf2 server, but net_graph 1 shows the INCOMING rates to my client as being constantly between 33 and 61, bouncing back and forth a lot. My client-side rates are set for 66-tic, and so is the server.
I am not using NEAR max CPU on the server (quad cores, only one core is being used at ~22%), over 2GB of free RAM, and whatnot. I am also not using a lot of my alloted bandwidth when it happens. It's a 100Mbit box, and when 20 people are on it, the tx and rx are: rx: 72.96 kB/s 797 p/s - tx: 398.21 kB/s 968 p/s. I can easily test that I can get 8,000kB/s+ upload and download, so I am sure the issue is not with my bandwidth. Here is my server.cfg, might something in this be causing it? http://pastebin.com/7jLJXSZK Yes, I am using sv_min/max*rate settings there to try to "force" everyone at 66 tic, but it doesn't seem to work (everyone is choppy on the server, and their incoming rates display on net_graph as being between 33 and 61). Even if I keep these values at the default, the problem still happens. Anyone know what I might be doing wrong, and what I can do to test why this is happening? Thanks. _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
