to the consoles.  Glad I got nemrun modded to work w/L4D2 since running a
"stock" dedicated server tree with "-autoupdate" clearly isn't enough foo
to truly get automatic updates. :)

And thank you Valve for putting this update out, gives me perfect
opportunity to verify nemrun is doing the right thing with a real update.

Apparently you're not aware of how Valve's autoupdate works. Valve's autoupdate only kicks in when the server changes maps. This is to prevent it from kicking players off the server.

Now, one could argue that it should immediately cycle empty servers... but it doesn't.

In theory, you could write a server plugin that catches the MasterRequestRestart event (which is only shown on -autoupdate servers) and have it restart the server, which would cause said server to run the Steam updater for that game.
