I don't know a lot about CS1.6, as that is before my time as a server admin. I do know that amxmodx still exists as an admin mod for it, though. For Source-based servers, including CS:S, you could use SourceMod, which is a progression from amxmodx (as I understand it). I believe that Mani is still being developed, and I have no idea as to the status of BeetlesMod, but I could be wrong about both, as I have used neither one.

As for stats, I know the name 'psychostats', so it may still exist. I, personally, recommend HLStatsX:CE, which is what we use. If you have the game servers, the web servers, and the ability to run the perl daemon that updates the stats databases then it is the free, open-source, way to go. There are other open-sorce stats packages, of course, but I am not familiar with them... I suppose any one of them could be 'better' depending on the methods used to tabulate points or your weighting of the importance of real-time stats, user interface (the 'look' of the web interface included), or the method by which the database gets updated (perl daemon vs cron job vs ftp of logs to the webhost, etc).

Hi All,

I'm new to the list and i've searched the archives about a year back but did
not see anything similar to my questions, so if there's a FAQ or a RTFM, by
all means point them out to me please :)

It's been about 6 years since I've ran any servers of 1.6/Source (which just
had come out and we were testing, I remember an admin mod for source, but it
didn't work very well), however I am getting some VM's ready to get back to
into running some threads and having some stats servers as I had back in
2004ish.

Would someone or possibly a few folks out there kindly help me out with
updating my knowledge about popular admin mods available (still adminmod and
adminmodx??) for both 1.6 and Source? I would like one mod for both engines
for ease, but I am open to options as I have a few VM's dedicated for these
threads/stats servers (I split those operations up for performance gains). I
would also like to get a stats site going as well (we used psycho stats in
the past and were very pleased). Is that still a popular tool these days or
have others created something comparable?? Open Source would be best, but
for a cheap price, I would be willing to pay a small fee per server for
stats. I've done some research, but since my lag in years of this awesome
game is quite large, i'm re-status'ing myself as a 'noob' admin again :)

TIA for any help
