Your distribution doesn't have an up-to-date version needed by the new steam libraries. We know that this is affecting a minority of servers and we're looking for a solution right now.
We're currently investigating whether we can ship this lib directly. Expect either an update with the new lib, or an announcement with some instructions where to get it, later today.
