I wouldn't do that because the first place in the railways station is either the car park or the ticket office.
Joking aside, nemrun/ssms do updates just fine. But i prefer to have valve work on crash fixes/more important stuff.
But, the problem isn't that updates need doing. The server updates itself just fine. (Although that said, 3 posts before I asked for a simple fix you asked them to re-write updating to use less IO - make your mind up, are updates fine or not? :-) )
The problem is the tool that does the quit to start the update is the tool that's typing this message saying it would be nice if the server could just issue a quit when there's an update if the server is empty (or if a client connects and triggers the 'you have a newer version error' if there's some reason not to have every empty server starting a download)
And with the best will in the world, getting the server to quit when its empty and there's an update isn't going to delay HL3 is it? If I had the source I'd send a patch.
(No I'm lying, if I had the source, I would just fix it so it worked, I wouldn't send the patch)
