Well said. In my case, I was just providing more feedback, about how this was
impacting servers that weren't even trying to use the new features - in fact,
it was effecting those were were trying to AVOID using the new features. I was
also trying to say, that I understand "its just a game". I don't run my
servers for profit, or even ask for donations. It's a hobby to me. I have fun
playing various games, so I try to provide a place for others to have fun too.

I have been running HLDS stuff since circa 1999, although only in the last year
or so have I transitioned to Linux. So, I am always careful to point out what
"flavor" I am running too - just in case it's "flavor-specific". [PS:
Personally, I wish Valve would target CentOS for the client-side port ahead of
Ubuntu - but that's a whole different conversation. :-) ]

I think this update's consequences really did catch Valve by surprise, and yeah
maybe they could have tested it more. I would just like to ensure they have
the best information that I can provide (which admittedly isn't much, beyond
what everybody else has probably already submitted). I would also be nice to
get regular updates from them saying that they are working on it, maybe some
idea where the problem stems-from, and maybe a short-term work-around until
there is a real fix.

For a big update like this, honestly I think Valve should consider rolling-back
and completely disabling the MvM and match-making stuff for wnow. I know
that's probably a big-deal (for any internal politics, and marketing-wise, if
not technically), but having deployed and supported $100,000,000+/year
web-sites before - I have found-out the hard-way, that roll-back is ALWAYS
better for the customers (and your revenue) than elongating the pain.
