Setting the umask to 022 helped, but this has the (in my opinion) unfortunate side-effect that all files created by the user running the srcds are created world-readable. Since I'm running the server under my own username, I don't really like this.
I still don't understand why srcds ignores the setgid bit or a default acl on the folder. How does it get around these conventions and can this be fixed? Since it's a bug in my opinion, not a feature.
