We're actively investigating a server outage that impacts
AuthenticateUserTicket (part of the multiplayer authentication system).
I will update this thread when we have more details or the issue is
resolved.

Nothing on the Steam_Support Twitter about it though, and attempting to
subscribe to the downtime announcements thread on the Steam forums with
Google Reader gives you new threads, not new posts in the downtime thread
unfortunately.

It started about 5-10 mins ago and nearby everyone who connects gets
dropped out because of that.
