Yep, that's exactly what I was asking about.Hmm... so, not handling this like the TF2 beta's at all then? With the TF2 beta, I can play/test TF2 beta for a while, then close-it, jump over and start the non-beta version of TF2 client - without having to do a bunch of opt-in/opt-out/re-install stuff (as it appears it required for the CS:S beta client). When I tried a to join a non-beta server from the beta CS:S client, I got the message about the server running an old version. Consequently, I personally already opted-back out of the CS:S client beta - just so that I could play normal CS:S. If that is the intended behavior, that probably means you're not going to get nearly as many people to test out CS:S beta's.Having it as a distinct app on the client (ala TF2 beta at-the-moment) definitely makes it more "usable". ------------------------------------ Date: Sat, 16 Mar 2013 01:59:18 +0000 From: Fletcher Dunn
Subject: Re: [hlds_linux] Counter-Strike: Source SteamPipe Betas (server and client) We removed the CS:S beta application (App ID 260) from the game list today,if that was what you installed. We're not using that. There is an opt-in beta to the main CS:S application. _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: https://list.valvesoftware.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
