That might well be it. Makes sense on connect since you need to verify checksums and whatnot, but I didn't suspect it since there's also a longer disconnect.

On a related note, does sv_pure 1 have much effect on deterring/preventing texture hacks or is it one of those things that's more hassle than its worth (as in "hackers gonna hack" and sv_pure won't stop them)?.
