I noticed one odd thing while downloading appid 232250 (tf2 SteamPipe
server) , as shown in the last 3 lines of my download:
App state (0x300502) downloading, progress: 99.82 (4600426818 /
4608717724)
App state (0x400502) committing, progress: 100.00 (2108980752 /
2108980752)
Success! App '232250' fully installed.
Why are the committing numbers smaller than the downloading numbers?
The downloading numbers are clearly related to the file size in bytes:
tf2@powerlord:~$ du -bs tf2
4608894227 tf2
but what are the committing numbers related to?
