Oops my bad you have to use the linux equivalent of hldsupdatetool.....steam (very original name, guys). Same difference, though, non-beta OP4 is not available via Steamcmd.

IIRC you have to use hldsupdatetool to get OP4 because the non-beta version is not yet on Steamcmd....This was so as of about two months ago, and if you are getting that message I would assume it to still be the case.

Hldsupdatetool is not dead yet! :-)

Greetings!
Me again.....
I am now trying to get an Opposing Force server running and I have encountered an issue. The server installed fine and starts successfully. When I attempt to play on this server, I get dropped shortly after connection with a message about my client.dll differing from the servers. Here is some more info:

 * This is a new "steamcmd" install with these parameters:
     o app_set_config 90 mod gearbox
     o app_update 90 validate (run 4 x)
 * The installation was run several times to compensate for the known
   90 bug
 * Permissions and ownership were adjusted
 * This is a 32 bit Ubuntu 12.04 server that can run the "valve" hlds
   server successfully
 * The PC side of the Opposing Force is a new installation
 * The PC can connect to and run other Opposing Force servers in the
list without the dll error, just not mine

Since this is a new install from both the server and client side, I am not sure why there is a dll mistmatch error being thrown on the client side. Has anyone encountered this problem? Or maybe some of the other Opposing Force server admins are on here and have a suggestion

I probably did something dumb (again)

Thank you for the help!
