Hi Dennis, did you do an "app_update 232250 validate" in steamcmd to perform the clean installation of srcds? Because I just did one of those and can tell you that both the srcds_run script and the srcds_linux binary are both executable after the download is complete. Actually every file in the directory is executable, which annoys me greatly but this has been discussed on this mailing list before. I have a bash script that I run after every update to set all the file permissions to something more sensible, send me an email if you're interested in that.
