I concur on all those points.  Of course, load-balancer's might have better
or a wider variety of session-handling options.  So, maybe not throw them
out entirely.

In any event, the point being this is where the "if implemented properly"
part of my original reply comes into play - always gives myself an "out". :P

And of course, I am happy for ANY way for players to re-find the server
after an IP address change.  Hopefully the stuff Valve is putting in place
will work pretty-much as intended.
