Hi Brian,

That makes also 2 patches for uClibc. Because this patch comes from 
uClibc I think this is the preferred way.

I am very curious what the hlfs maintainers think about this issue, but 
it's very quiet from that side. Considering the date it could be they 
are on a well deserved vacation :-)
