Hi Naruto, Giving up is no solution. A few months ago, I had actually given up on building HLFS 'coz of the same issues u have until I found a link to Notes on building a uClibc system.

HLFS book coupled with the notes, I have constructed an HLFS based system with uclibc and busybox to use for my nameserver.
