Honestly, I tried using HDRShop and the textures simply didn't work in Left 4 Dead 2. No idea why. I spent a long, long time creating a really cool skybox with icebergs and mountains. I stitched together tons of images in Photoshop to create a realistic version of Antarctica in the distance and...no luck. Simply didn't load, was black, or caused the map to crash.
I'd suggest just sticking to LDR. Of course, my unlucky events do not mean you will not meet success. I'm sure I messed up something along the line.
