Bamidbar, starting at chapter 7

{7:1} It happened on the day that Moshe had finished setting up the
tabernacle, and had anointed it and sanctified it, with all its
furniture, and the altar with all its vessels, and had anointed and
sanctified them; {7:2} that the princes of Yisra'el, the heads of
their fathers' houses, offered. These were the princes of the tribes.
These are they who were over those who were numbered: {7:3} and they
brought their offering before the LORD, six covered wagons, and twelve
oxen; a wagon for every two of the princes, and for each one an ox:
and they presented them before the tabernacle. {7:4} The LORD spoke to
Moshe, saying, {7:5} "Accept these from them, that they may be used in
doing the service of the Tent of Meeting; and you shall give them to
the Levites, to every man according to his service."

{7:6} Moshe took the wagons and the oxen, and gave them to the
Levites. {7:7} He gave two wagons and four oxen to the sons of
Gershon, according to their service: {7:8} and he gave four wagons and
eight oxen to the sons of Merari, according to their service, under
the direction of Itamar the son of Aharon the [1>]Kohen[<1]. {7:9} But
to the sons of Kehat he gave none, because the service of the
sanctuary belonged to them; they carried it on their shoulders.

{7:10} The princes gave offerings for the dedication of the altar in
the day that it was anointed, even the princes gave their offerings

the oxen for the sacrifice of shalom offerings twenty-four bulls, the
rams sixty, the male goats sixty, the male lambs a year old sixty.
This was the dedication of the altar, after it was anointed.

{7:89} When Moshe went into the Tent of Meeting to speak with the
LORD, he heard his voice speaking to him from above the mercy seat
that was on the ark of the Testimony, from between the two Keruvim:
 and he spoke to him.

{8:1} The LORD spoke to Moshe, saying, {8:2} "Speak to Aharon, and
tell him, 'When you light the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light
 in front of the menorah.'"

{8:3} Aharon did so. He lit its lamps to light the area in front of
the menorah, as the LORD commanded Moshe. {8:4} This was the
workmanship of the menorah, beaten work of gold. From its base to its
flowers, it was beaten work: according to the pattern which the LORD
had shown Moshe, so he made the menorah.

{8:5} The LORD spoke to Moshe, saying, {8:6} "Take the Levites from
among the children of Yisra'el, and cleanse them. {8:7} Thus shall you
do to them, to cleanse them: sprinkle the water of cleansing on them,
let them shave their whole bodies with a razor, and let them wash
their clothes, and cleanse themselves. {8:8} Then let them take a
young bull, and its meal offering, fine flour mixed with oil; and
another young bull you shall take for a sin offering. {8:9} You shall
present the Levites before the Tent of Meeting. You shall assemble the
whole congregation of the children of Yisra'el. {8:10} You shall
present the Levites before the LORD. The children of Yisra'el shall
lay their hands on the Levites, {8:11} and Aharon shall offer the
Levites before the LORD for a wave offering, on the behalf of the
children of Yisra'el, that it may be theirs to do the service of the
LORD. {8:12} The Levites shall lay their hands on the heads of the
bulls, and you shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other
for a burnt offering to the LORD, to make atonement for the Levites.
{8:13} You shall set the Levites before Aharon, and before his sons,
and offer them as a wave offering to the LORD. {8:14} Thus you shall
separate the Levites from among the children of Yisra'el, and the
 Levites shall be mine.

{8:15} "After that, the Levites shall go in to do the service of the
Tent of Meeting: and you shall cleanse them, and offer them as a wave
offering. {8:16} For they are wholly given to me from among the
children of Yisra'el; instead of all who open the womb, even the
firstborn of all the children of Yisra'el, I have taken them to me.
{8:17} For all the firstborn among the children of Yisra'el are mine,
both man and animal. On the day that I struck all the firstborn in the
land of Mitzrayim, I sanctified them for myself. {8:18} I have taken
the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the children of
Yisra'el. {8:19} I have given the Levites as a gift to Aharon and to
his sons from among the children of Yisra'el, to do the service of the
children of Yisra'el in the Tent of Meeting, and to make atonement for
the children of Yisra'el; that there be no plague among the children
of Yisra'el, when the children of Yisra'el come near to the sanctuary."

{8:20} Thus did Moshe, and Aharon, and all the congregation of the
children of Yisra'el, to the Levites. According to all that the LORD
commanded Moshe concerning the Levites, so the children of Yisra'el
did to them. {8:21} The Levites purified themselves from sin, and they
washed their clothes; and Aharon offered them for a wave offering
before the LORD; and Aharon made atonement for them to cleanse them.
{8:22} After that, the Levites went in to do their service in the Tent
of Meeting before Aharon, and before his sons: as the LORD had
commanded Moshe concerning the Levites, so they did to them.

{8:23} The LORD spoke to Moshe, saying, {8:24} "This is that which
belongs to the Levites: from twenty-five years old and upward they
 shall go in to wait on the service in the work of the Tent of Meeting;
{8:25} and from the age of fifty years they shall cease waiting on the
work, and shall serve no more, {8:26} but shall minister with their
brothers in the Tent of Meeting, to keep the charge, and shall do no
service. Thus shall you do to the Levites concerning their duties."

{9:1} The LORD spoke to Moshe in the wilderness of Sinai, in the
first month of the second year after they had come out of the land of
Mitzrayim, saying, {9:2} "Moreover let the children of Yisra'el keep
the Pesach in its appointed season. {9:3} On the fourteenth day of
this month, at evening, you shall keep it in its appointed season--
according to all its statutes, and according to all its ordinances,
 you shall keep it."

{9:4} Moshe spoke to the children of Yisra'el, that they should keep
the Pesach. {9:5} They kept the Pesach in the first month, on the
fourteenth day of the month, at evening, in the wilderness of Sinai.
According to all that the LORD commanded Moshe, so the children of
Yisra'el did. {9:6} There were certain men, who were unclean because
of the dead body of a man, so that they could not keep the Pesach on
that day, and they came before Moshe and before Aharon on that day.
{9:7} Those men said to him, "We are unclean because of the dead body
of a man. Why are we kept back, that we may not offer the offering of
the LORD in its appointed season among the children of Yisra'el?"

{9:8} Moshe answered them, "Wait, that I may hear what the LORD will
 command concerning you."

{9:9} The LORD spoke to Moshe, saying, {9:10} "Say to the children
of Yisra'el, 'If any man of you or of your generations is unclean by
reason of a dead body, or is on a journey far away, he shall still
keep the Pesach to the LORD. {9:11} In the second month, on the
fourteenth day at evening they shall keep it; they shall eat it with
[1>]matzah[<1] and bitter herbs. {9:12} They shall leave none of it
until the morning, nor break a bone of it. According to all the
statute of the Pesach they shall keep it. {9:13} But the man who is
clean, and is not on a journey, and fails to keep the Pesach, that
soul shall be cut off from his people. Because he didn't offer the
offering of the LORD in its appointed season, that man shall bear his
sin. {9:14} If a foreigner lives among you, and desires to keep the
Pesach to the LORD; according to the statute of the Pesach, and
according to its ordinance, so shall he do. You shall have one
statute, both for the sojourner, and for him who is born in the land.'"

{9:15} On the day that the tabernacle was raised up, the cloud
covered the tabernacle, even the Tent of the Testimony: and at evening
it was over the tabernacle as it were the appearance of fire, until
morning. {9:16} So it was continually. The cloud covered it, and the
appearance of fire by night. {9:17} Whenever the cloud was taken up
from over the Tent, then after that the children of Yisra'el
journeyed; and in the place where the cloud remained, there the
children of Yisra'el encamped. {9:18} At the [2>]mitzvah[<2] of the
LORD, the children of Yisra'el journeyed, and at the [3>]mitzvah[<3]
of the LORD they encamped. As long as the cloud remained on the
tabernacle they remained encamped. {9:19} When the cloud stayed on the
tabernacle many days, then the children of Yisra'el kept the charge of
the LORD, and didn't travel. {9:20} Sometimes the cloud was a few days
on the tabernacle; then according to the [4>]mitzvah[<4] of the LORD
they remained encamped, and according to the [5>]mitzvah[<5] of the
LORD they journeyed. {9:21} Sometimes the cloud was from evening until
morning; and when the cloud was taken up in the morning, they
journeyed: or by day and by night, when the cloud was taken up, they
journeyed. {9:22} Whether it was two days, or a month, or a year that
the cloud stayed on the tabernacle, remaining on it, the children of
Yisra'el remained encamped, and didn't travel; but when it was taken
up, they traveled. {9:23} At the [6>]mitzvah[<6] of the LORD they
encamped, and at the [7>]mitzvah[<7] of the LORD they journeyed. They
kept the charge of the LORD, at the [8>]mitzvah[<8] of the LORD by
 Moshe.
