Nechemyah, starting at chapter 10

   {10:1} Now those who sealed were: Nechemyah the governor, the son of
 Hakhalyah, and Tzidkiyahu, {10:2} Serayah, `Azaryah, Yirmeyahu, {10:3}
 Pashchur, Amaryah, Malkiyah, {10:4} Hattush, Shevanyah, Mallukh,
 {10:5} Harim, Meremot, `Ovadyah, {10:6} Daniyel, Ginneton, Barukh,
 {10:7} Meshullam, Aviyah, Miyamin, {10:8} Ma`azyah, Bilgai, Shemayah;
 these were the [1>]Kohanim[<1]. {10:9} The Levites: namely, Yeshua the
 son of Azanyah, Binnui of the sons of Henadad, Kadmi'el; {10:10} and
 their brothers, Shevanyah, Hodiyah, Kelita, Pelayah, Hanan, {10:11}
 Mikha, Rechov, Hashavyah, {10:12} Zakkur, Sherevyah, Shevanyah,
 {10:13} Hodiyah, Bani, Beninu. {10:14} The chiefs of the people:
 Par`osh, Pachat-Mo'av, `Elam, Zattu, Bani, {10:15} Bunni, Azgad,
 Bevai, {10:16} Adoniyahu, Bigvai, `Adin, {10:17} Ater, Hizkiyahu,
 Azur, {10:18} Hodiyah, Hashum, Betzai, {10:19} Harif, `Anatot, Nevai,
 {10:20} Magpi`ash, Meshullam, Hetzir, {10:21} Meshezav'el, Tzadok,
 Yaddua, {10:22} Pelatyah, Hanan, `Anayah, {10:23} Hoshea, Hananyah,
 Hashshuv, {10:24} Hallochesh, Pilecha, Shovek, {10:25} Rechum,
 Hashavnah, Ma`aseyah, {10:26} and Achyah, Hanan, `Anan, {10:27}
 Mallukh, Harim, Ba`anah. {10:28} The rest of the people, the
 [2>]Kohanim[<2], the Levites, the porters, the singers, the temple
 servants, and all those who had separated themselves from the peoples
 of the lands to the law of God, their wives, their sons, and their
 daughters, everyone who had knowledge, and understanding; {10:29} They
 joined with their brothers, their nobles, and entered into a curse,
 and into an oath, to walk in God's law, which was given by Moshe the
 servant of God, and to observe and do all the [3>]mitzvot[<3] of the
 LORD our Lord, and his ordinances and his statutes; {10:30} and that
 we would not give our daughters to the peoples of the land, nor take
 their daughters for our sons; {10:31} and if the peoples of the land
 bring wares or any grain on the day of Shabbat to sell, that we would
 not buy of them on the Shabbat, or on a holy day; and that we would
 forego the seventh year, and the exaction of every debt. {10:32} Also
 we made ordinances for us, to charge ourselves yearly with the third
 part of a shekel for the service of the house of our God; {10:33} for
 the show bread, and for the continual meal-offering, and for the
 continual burnt-offering, for the Shabbatot, for the new moons, for
 the set feasts, and for the holy things, and for the sin-offerings to
 make atonement for Yisra'el, and for all the work of the house of our
 God. {10:34} We cast lots, the [4>]Kohanim[<4], the Levites, and the
 people, for the wood-offering, to bring it into the house of our God,
 according to our fathers' houses, at times appointed, year by year, to
 burn on the altar of the LORD our God, as it is written in the law;
 {10:35} and to bring the first fruits of our ground, and the first
 fruits of all fruit of all manner of trees, year by year, to the house
 of the LORD; {10:36} also the firstborn of our sons, and of our
 cattle, as it is written in the law, and the firstborn of our herds
 and of our flocks, to bring to the house of our God, to the
 [5>]Kohanim[<5] who minister in the house of our God; {10:37} and that
 we should bring the first fruits of our dough, and our
 heave-offerings, and the fruit of all manner of trees, the new wine
 and the oil, to the [6>]Kohanim[<6], to the chambers of the house of
 our God; and the tithes of our ground to the Levites; for they, the
 Levites, take the tithes in all the cities of our tillage. {10:38} The
 [7>]Kohen[<7] the son of Aharon shall be with the Levites, when the
 Levites take tithes: and the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the
 tithes to the house of our God, to the chambers, into the
 treasure-house. {10:39} For the children of Yisra'el and the children
 of Levi shall bring the heave-offering of the grain, of the new wine,
 and of the oil, to the chambers, where are the vessels of the
 sanctuary, and the [8>]Kohanim[<8] who minister, and the porters, and
 the singers: and we will not forsake the house of our God.

   {11:1} The princes of the people lived in Yerushalayim: the rest of
 the people also cast lots, to bring one of ten to dwell in
 Yerushalayim the holy city, and nine parts in the [other] cities.
 {11:2} The people blessed all the men who willingly offered themselves
 to dwell in Yerushalayim. {11:3} Now these are the chiefs of the
 province who lived in Yerushalayim: but in the cities of Yehudah lived
 everyone in his possession in their cities, [to wit], Yisra'el, the
 [1>]Kohanim[<1], and the Levites, and the temple servants, and the
 children of Shlomo's servants. {11:4} In Yerushalayim lived certain of
 the children of Yehudah, and of the children of Binyamin. Of the
 children of Yehudah: `Atayah the son of `Uzziyah, the son of
 Zekharyah, the son of Amaryah, the son of Shefatyah, the son of
 Mahalal'el, of the children of Peretz; {11:5} and Ma`aseyah the son of
 Barukh, the son of Kolchozeh, the son of Hazayah, the son of `Adayah,
 the son of Yoiariv, the son of Zekharyah, the son of the Shiloni.
 {11:6} All the sons of Peretz who lived in Yerushalayim were four
 hundred sixty-eight valiant men. {11:7} These are the sons of
 Binyamin: Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Yo`ed, the son of
 Pedayahu, the son of Kolayah, the son of Ma`aseyah, the son of
 'Iti'el, the son of Yesha`yah. {11:8} After him Gabbai, Sallai, nine
 hundred twenty-eight. {11:9} Yo'el the son of Zikhri was their
 overseer; and Yehudah the son of Senu'ah was second over the city.
 {11:10} Of the [2>]Kohanim[<2]: Yedayah the son of Yoiariv, Yakhin,
 {11:11} Serayah the son of Hilkiyah, the son of Meshullam, the son of
 Tzadok, the son of Merayot, the son of Achituv, the ruler of the house
 of God, {11:12} and their brothers who did the work of the house,
 eight hundred twenty-two; and `Adayah the son of Yerocham, the son of
 Pelalyah, the son of Amtzi, the son of Zekharyah, the son of Pashchur,
 the son of Malkiyah, {11:13} and his brothers, chiefs of fathers'
 [houses], two hundred forty-two; and Amashsai the son of `Azar'el, the
 son of Achzai, the son of Meshillemot, the son of Immer, {11:14} and
 their brothers, mighty men of valor, one hundred twenty-eight; and
 their overseer was Zavdi'el, the son of Haggedolim. {11:15} Of the
 Levites: Shemayah the son of Hashshuv, the son of `Azrikam, the son of
 Hashavyah, the son of Bunni; {11:16} and Shabbetai and Yozavad, of the
 chiefs of the Levites, who had the oversight of the outward business
 of the house of God; {11:17} and Mattanyah the son of Mikha, the son
 of Zavdi, the son of Asaf, who was the chief to begin the thanksgiving
 in prayer, and Bakbukyah, the second among his brothers; and `Avda the
 son of Shammua, the son of Galal, the son of Yedutun. {11:18} All the
 Levites in the holy city were two hundred eighty-four. {11:19}
 Moreover the porters, `Akkuv, Talmon, and their brothers, who kept
 watch at the gates, were one hundred seventy-two. {11:20} The residue
 of Yisra'el, of the [3>]Kohanim[<3], the Levites, were in all the
 cities of Yehudah, everyone in his inheritance. {11:21} But the temple
 servants lived in `Ofel: and Tzicha and Gishpa were over the temple
 servants. {11:22} The overseer also of the Levites at Yerushalayim was
 `Uzzi the son of Bani, the son of Hashavyah, the son of Mattanyah, the
 son of Mikha, of the sons of Asaf, the singers, over the business of
 the house of God. {11:23} For there was a [4>]mitzvah[<4] from the
 king concerning them, and a settled provision for the singers, as
 every day required. {11:24} Petachyah the son of Meshezav'el, of the
 children of Zerach the son of Yehudah, was at the king's hand in all
 matters concerning the people. {11:25} As for the villages, with their
 fields, some of the children of Yehudah lived in Kiryat-Arba and the
 towns of it, and in Divon and the towns of it, and in Yekavtze'el and
 the villages of it, {11:26} and in Yeshua, and in Moladah, and
 Beit-Pelet, {11:27} and in Hatzar-Shu`al, and in Be'er-Sheva and the
 towns of it, {11:28} and in Tziklag, and in Mekhonah and in the towns
 of it, {11:29} and in En-rimmon, and in Tzor`ah, and in Yarmut,
 {11:30} Zanoach, `Adullam, and their villages, Lakhish and the fields
 of it, `Azeka and the towns of it. So they encamped from Be'er-Sheva
 to the valley of Hinnom. {11:31} The children of Binyamin also [lived]
 from Geva [onward], at Mikhmash and Ayah, and at Beit-El and the towns
 of it, {11:32} at `Anatot, Nov, `Ananyah, {11:33} Hatzor, Ramah,
 Gittayim, {11:34} Hadid, Tzevo`im, Nevalat, {11:35} Lod, and Ono, the
 valley of craftsmen. {11:36} Of the Levites, certain courses in
 Yehudah [were joined] to Binyamin.

   {12:1} Now these are the [1>]Kohanim[<1] and the Levites who went up
 with Zerubbavel the son of She'alti'el, and Yeshua: Serayah,
 Yirmeyahu, Ezra, {12:2} Amaryah, Mallukh, Hattush, {12:3} Shekhanyahu,
 Rechum, Meremot, {12:4} `Iddo, Ginnetoi, Aviyah, {12:5} Miyamin,
 Ma`adyah, Bilgah, {12:6} Shemayah, and Yoiariv, Yedayah. {12:7} Sallu,
 `Amok, Hilkiyah, Yedayah. These were the chiefs of the [2>]Kohanim[<2]
 and of their brothers in the days of Yeshua. {12:8} Moreover the
 Levites: Yeshua, Binnui, Kadmi'el, Sherevyah, Yehudah, [and]
 Mattanyah, who was over the thanksgiving, he and his brothers. {12:9}
 Also Bakbukyah and Unno, their brothers, were over against them
 according to their offices. {12:10} Yeshua became the father of
 Yoiakim, and Yoiakim became the father of Elyashiv, and Elyashiv
 became the father of Yoiada, {12:11} and Yoiada became the father of
 Yonatan, and Yonatan became the father of Yaddua. {12:12} In the days
 of Yoiakim were [3>]Kohanim[<3], heads of fathers' [houses]: of
 Serayah, Merayah; of Yirmeyahu, Hananyah; {12:13} of Ezra, Meshullam;
 of Amaryah, Yehochanan; {12:14} of Malluchi, Yonatan; of Shevanyah,
 Yosef; {12:15} of Harim, `Adna; of Merayot, Helkai; {12:16} of `Iddo,
 Zekharyah; of Ginneton, Meshullam; {12:17} of Aviyah, Zikhri; of
 Minyamin, of Mo`adyah, Piltai; {12:18} of Bilgah, Shammua; of
 Shemayah, Yehonatan; {12:19} and of Yoiariv, Mattenai; of Yedayah,
 `Uzzi; {12:20} of Sallai, Kallai; of `Amok, `Ever; {12:21} of
 Hilkiyah, Hashavyah; of Yedayah, Netan'el. {12:22} As for the Levites,
 in the days of Elyashiv, Yoiada, and Yochanan, and Yaddua, there were
 recorded the heads of fathers' [houses]; also the [4>]Kohanim[<4], in
 the reign of Daryavesh the Parsian. {12:23} The sons of Levi, heads of
 fathers' [houses], were written in the book of the chronicles, even
 until the days of Yochanan the son of Elyashiv. {12:24} The chiefs of
 the Levites: Hashavyah, Sherevyah, and Yeshua the son of Kadmi'el,
 with their brothers over against them, to praise and give thanks,
 according to the [5>]mitzvah[<5] of David the man of God, watch next
 to watch. {12:25} Mattanyah, and Bakbukyah, `Ovadyah, Meshullam,
 Talmon, `Akkuv, were porters keeping the watch at the store-houses of
 the gates. {12:26} These were in the days of Yoiakim the son of
 Yeshua, the son of Yotzadak, and in the days of Nechemyah the
 governor, and of Ezra the [6>]Kohen[<6] the [7>]Sofer[<7]. {12:27} At
 the dedication of the wall of Yerushalayim they sought the Levites out
 of all their places, to bring them to Yerushalayim, to keep the
 dedication with gladness, both with giving thanks, and with singing,
 with cymbals, psalteries, and with harps. {12:28} The sons of the
 singers gathered themselves together, both out of the plain round
 about Yerushalayim, and from the villages of the Netofati; {12:29}
 also from Beit-Gilgal, and out of the fields of Geva and `Azmavet: for
 the singers had built them villages round about Yerushalayim. {12:30}
 The [8>]Kohanim[<8] and the Levites purified themselves; and they
 purified the people, and the gates, and the wall. {12:31} Then I
 brought up the princes of Yehudah on the wall, and appointed two great
 companies who gave thanks and went in procession; [whereof one went]
 on the right hand on the wall toward the dung gate: {12:32} and after
 them went Hosha`yah, and half of the princes of Yehudah, {12:33} and
 `Azaryah, Ezra, and Meshullam, {12:34} Yehudah, and Binyamin, and
 Shemayah, and Yirmeyahu, {12:35} and certain of the [9>]Kohanim[<9]'
 sons with trumpets: Zekharyah the son of Yonatan, the son of Shemayah,
 the son of Mattanyah, the son of Mikhayahu, the son of Zakkur, the son
 of Asaf; {12:36} and his brothers, Shemayah, and `Azar'el, Milalai,
 Gilalai, Ma`ai, Netan'el, and Yehudah, Hanani, with the musical
 instruments of David the man of God; and Ezra the [10>]Sofer[<10] was
 before them. {12:37} By the spring gate, and straight before them,
 they went up by the stairs of the city of David, at the ascent of the
 wall, above the house of David, even to the water gate eastward.
 {12:38} The other company of those who gave thanks went to meet them,
 and I after them, with the half of the people, on the wall, above the
 tower of the furnaces, even to the broad wall, {12:39} and above the
 gate of Efrayim, and by the old gate, and by the fish gate, and the
 tower of Hanan'el, and the tower of Hammeah, even to the sheep gate:
 and they stood still in the gate of the guard. {12:40} So stood the
 two companies of those who gave thanks in the house of God, and I, and
 the half of the rulers with me; {12:41} and the [11>]Kohanim[<11],
 Elyakim, Ma`aseyah, Minyamin, Mikhayahu, Elyo`enai, Zekharyah, and
 Hananyah, with trumpets; {12:42} and Ma`aseyah, and Shemayah, and
 El`azar, and `Uzzi, and Yehochanan, and Malkiyah, and `Elam, and
 Etzer. The singers sang loud, with Yizrachyah their overseer. {12:43}
 They offered great sacrifices that day, and rejoiced; for God had made
 them rejoice with great joy; and the women also and the children
 rejoiced: so that the joy of Yerushalayim was heard even afar off.
 {12:44} On that day were men appointed over the chambers for the
 treasures, for the heave-offerings, for the first fruits, and for the
 tithes, to gather into them, according to the fields of the cities,
 the portions appointed by the law for the [12>]Kohanim[<12] and
 Levites: for Yehudah rejoiced for the [13>]Kohanim[<13] and for the
 Levites who waited. {12:45} They kept the charge of their God, and the
 charge of the purification, and [so did] the singers and the porters,
 according to the [14>]mitzvah[<14] of David, and of Shlomo his son.
 {12:46} For in the days of David and Asaf of old there was a chief of
 the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving to God. {12:47} All
 Yisra'el in the days of Zerubbavel, and in the days of Nechemyah, gave
 the portions of the singers and the porters, as every day required:
 and they set apart [that which was] for the Levites; and the Levites
 set apart [that which was] for the sons of Aharon.
