Sounds like you missed this step (3rd paragraph under "Have a configurable set of statuses"): "Next step, we can remove the ‘status’ field from the Story model, and instead add an association with the StoryStatus model:" I've changed the text as it was rather unclear. It now reads: "Next, remove the 'status' field from the `fields do ... end` block in the Story model.
