I discovered Hobo while researching scaffolding frameworks, actually after
trying Streamlined a bit, when I read a post by Dr. Nic that basically said
Hobo is where it's at. Based on that I started checking it out and
experimenting with it. I watched the old screencasts and got really excited by
it, then tried to use it. I liked the hobo migrations immediately since they
made so much sense, but I experienced about a month of frustration trying to
grok dryml.

I knew Hobo was going to be awesome, but I thought it was going to be too long
until there was enough documentation for someone of my skill level to be able
to take advantage of it. So I was just about ready to put it on the shelf when
Tom cranked out version 0.8 and the new Agility tutorial, and since then I've
been very glad I stuck with it. I've used hobo to do rapid prototyping of a new
application and wowed the clients with how quickly I can adapt to proposed
changes.

As Tom filled in documentation for the taglibs I started to understand dryml's
magic. Here's what I think will make it amazingly popular some day: DRYML makes
me feel like an elite programmer. Once I started to grasp the concept of dryml
tags I felt like I could mold my interface like shaping clay; I would think of
something I wanted to change, make the (usually tiny) edit in one place in my
view, and it would happen! That's why I love DRYML, it makes me feel very
smart.

Hobo is the most revolutionary thing in web development since Rails. Hobo is
taking the next step of standardizing and abstracting web development patterns
to leverage developer time.

I think Tom is smart to not be blowing Hobo's horn again until he feels like
everything is in place for an influx of new users. But once that time comes I
think hobo is going to be a big hit. I can't wait!
