After a quick glance at stackoverflow, I would say yes. :) My original idea was for more of a forum thread with the question being the first post and with the most useful posts being voted to become answers. Casual visitors could look at the questions and get straight to the best responses without having to sort through your typical forum spam but the responses could still go through a brainstorming like phase that you get in forums.
I can see advantages to both, the straight answers get voted up or down is certainly simpler to implement. Hmm... maybe they could be done in the same implementation, default view being the highest scoring answer with another view showing in a oldest answer first.
