Ian,

You are absolutely right that there is some basic doc this and other
features for that needs to be created that for experienced Hoboists
may seem obvious. We had the same issue on our team. Tola was
extremely frustrated until, while working with Tom, the lights came on
and she said "This is awesome!" This coming for one of the most
talented and fast Java programmers I have ever had on my team.

We are right now working out a deal with someone to help write an
introductory Hobo manual "for the rest of us" SOON. Tom and James
have so much on their plate just getting the insides documented that
we need other resources who have had the same experience as you and me
to write with a fresh point of view. I also believe that the doc
should not assume Rails experience. I came to Hobo because I wanted a
RAD tool w/o what I saw (IMHO) as wa too mnay lines of code in Rails.

The guy I am considering to help us in the writing is a great
synthesizer and explainer, and has excellent business savvy as well as
a PhD in Physics. (The the learning curve for Hobo has nothing to do
with innate intelligence!) There is magic in Hobo, but just like the
best magic tricks, some features seem so impossIble to fathom but
obvious after explained in a step-by-step fashion.

I think it will take the Newbie's view to help get more people over
the hump during this period before 1.0.
