Not sure about turning them off - Tom may be able to answer that. For the git noise, however, I'd highly recommend adding the app/views/ taglibs/auto directory to .gitignore. I do that, then run "rake hobo:generate_taglibs" as a post-symlink deploy task in Capistrano, and it works great.
