When there is a front_site.dryml, the rapid tags are imported there, rather than in application.dryml, so you need to redefine <page> *after* the rapid includes, in front_site.dryml, and also in admin_site.dryml to fix the problem there.
Actually thinking about it, it would make much more sense to move the <include src="rapid" plugin="hobo"/> from each of those, back into application.dryml, and then redefine <page> there. Does that make sense? application.dryml comes in first followed by [subsite-name]_site.dryml Tom p.s.
