Most plugins will work.  But some will work better than others.   For 
instance, some of them may only work on view pages written in ERB. 
Which you can do in Hobo, but one of the goals of Hobo is to replace 
view pages written in ERB.

So that's why things like paperclip-with-hobo exist.   You can certainly 
use paperclip with hobo without using the paperclip-with-hobo plugin. 
But paperclip-with-hobo makes it a lot easier to use in a hobo-y 
fashion, in a lot fewer lines of code.

How much you have to revert to the "old rails way" to use a plugin 
varies greatly depending on the plugin.
